So much fun… writing an essay?
I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had writing an essay for school. I’ve chosen to support the viewpoint of the film Princess Mononoke as a modern myth, comparing the characters to typical archetypes in mythological works (e.g. The Odyssey).
For all of you who enjoy literature, film, or drama, I would highly recommend attempting a scholarly examination or personal essay of your favorite work based on Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. You will learn to appreciate your favorite work even more by getting this in-depth, and become even more attached to it.
What better way to keep your brain in tune this summer than writing an essay you’ll actually enjoy?
